Problem Solving

Something was clearly wrong with this client's 500 ton hemming press. But the root cause of the intermittent failures was not easy to pinpoint.

Our data acquisition method yielded the time-series graph (inset photo) that allowed our team to compare current operation of the machine with a baseline snapshot we had taken when the machine was operating properly.

It was easy to see the dramatic and unwanted changes in pressure. This information guided our inspection process, and helped know exactly when to look for a problem.

That's when we spotted the leaking connection shown in the photograph.

The discipline and data we use to quickly identify and solve problems can also help us speed up cycle times and optimize production.
